Sangay Volcanoe, 12 Days

The most continuously active volcano in the world!

Day 1. Arrive Quito (2,800m), if time allows city tour in the afternoon.
Day 2. Drive to Riobamba. Drive from Riobamba to Guarguallá village.
Day 3. Trek from Guarguallá to Plazapungo. Camp in tents at 3.600m.
Day 4. Trek from Plazapungo to Plazapamba. Camp in tents.
Day 5. Plazapamba Camp - La Playa Camp (3.630m). Tents.
Day 6. La Playa Camp - Las Ventanas Camp (at 3.900m). Tents.
Day 7. Sangay summit (5.230m). First try. Camp in Las Ventanas.
Day 8. Sangay summit reserve day. Back to La Playa. Camp.
Day 9. Back to Plazapamba. Camp.
Day 10. Plazapamba – Guarguallá. Drive to Riobamba. Overnight.
Day 11. Riobamba - Baños. Rest day in Baños (1.900m).
Day 12. Back to Quito.
